yamaha 6y8 fuel gauge

Trying to figure out wiring for your Yamaha 6Y8 Fuel Gauge?

This is the second cable harness required for a 6Y8 Yamaha Digital Speedometer (Square or Round Versions).  As well as the one set of NMEA 0183 input wires, there are two sensor inputs on the pink/black leads for monitoring up to 2 analog fuel sending units for the fuel gauge function in the Yamaha gauge.

First, you need our our CommandLink NMEA Cable.

This cable gives outboard engine data to the tach over NMEA.  If your outboard has variable trolling speed, this connection also provides the tach commands to the outboard for this option. You must install this first cable because it provides power to the tach.

The CommandLink Gauges are a great upgrade for your boat.  And now, you don’t need to spend all that money on a CommandLink installation.  Just use your NMEA network.

Take advantage of the super benefits of adjustable trolling speed by installing a newer Yamaha Digital Tachometer, without the need for a CommandLink system.

Just tie this cable into your NMEA Network, and connect your new Yamaha Tach for motor trolling speed adjustment on the fly.  Or, get two of these cables and connect your speedometer, too.

Our Yamaha 6Y8 Fuel Gauge cables have a two year warranty.
